Job summary

Nature's Fare Markets in Vernon, BC is seeking a Produce Department Manager to lead our produce team, maintain a clean, well-stocked department, and optimize ordering in collaboration with our Category Manager.

You will champion organic and local produce, mentor staff, and drive sales through engaging displays and outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment. Evening and weekend shifts are required, with a five-day work week.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in managing people
• Experience in a retail setting is an asset
• Experience in related industries is an asset
• Strong knowledge of organic produce preferred, and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Set an example with exemplary customer service and strong work ethic
• Maintain cleanliness and stocking levels in the department
• Manage inventory, purchasing, and rotate products with vendors and corporate Purchasing
• Collaborate with suppliers, head office, and other stores on events
• Monitor sales and implement merchandising and promotional strategies
• Schedule staff and manage staffing levels and time-off requests
• Demonstrate leadership through delegation and coaching
