Job summary

Sobeys is hiring a Produce Clerk in Edmonton to maintain a well-stocked produce department and ensure a quick, easy shopping experience for customers. Full training is provided and there is a focus on friendly service and strong product rotations.

You will stock, rotate, and display produce, assist customers, and support backroom operations with occasional cash register duties during peak times. Evening/weekend availability is encouraged, and safety is a priority in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations.
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner.
• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Sobeys programs.
• Stocking produce and related products on shelves (Frozen, perishable, non-perishables).
• Maintaining and building merchandise displays in Sobeys programs.
• Rotation of product.
• Loading/unloading of product for the sales floor.
• Backroom and inventory management.
• Operate a cash register as needed during peak hours.
• Other duties as assigned by Store Manager.

Maintaining a well‑stocked department so that the customer shopping experience is quick, easy and efficient is the key to building loyalty. That is why our Produce Clerks play such an important role in the success of our stores. Full training is provided for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations

• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
• Stocking produce and related product to shelves such as (Frozen, perishable and non‑perishables)
• Maintaining and building merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programs
• Rotation of product
• Loading and unloading of product for the sales floor
• Backroom and inventory management
• Operating a cash register as needed for relief during peak business hours
• Any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
