Fresh Market Foods in Sioux Lookout, ON is seeking a Produce Clerk to join our team. You will cut, prep and display fresh fruits and vegetables while ensuring top-quality service and product freshness.

Responsibilities include stocking, conducting quality checks, assisting customers, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace in a fast-paced environment. Flexible shifts and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Follow safe food handling guidelines and store procedures.
• Complete opening/closing tasks for produce floor operations.
• Assist customers and answer inquiries to ensure an exceptional shopping experience.
• Be available for early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Cut fruits and veggies and prepare delicious food service items like parfaits and stir-fry mixes.
• Ensure prompt stocking and rotation of produce, keeping our cooler, back room, and produce hallway organized and clutter-free.
• Provide friendly and professional service, assisting customers and taking accurate orders over the phone.
• Conduct quality checks, remove damaged products, and pack orders for delivery.
• Maintain a spotless work area by cleaning equipment, sweeping, and mopping as per health and safety standards.
• Keep the production team informed about daily waste and fresh product availability.
• Follow safe food handling guidelines and store procedures diligently.
• Perform opening tasks like setting up the produce floor and closing duties such as turning off devices and disposing of garbage.
• Ensure an exceptional shopping experience by addressing inquiries and providing assistance.
• Be ready to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, good communication and interpersonal abilities,
• Knowledge of health and safety guidelines, availability to work flexible hours
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-time (40 hours/week)

• Location of Work: 79 Queen Street; Sioux Lookout, ON P8T 1A1
• Wage/Salary: Starting at $17.95 – $21.00 per/hour (depending on experience)
• Closing Date: October 30, 2026
• Start Date: ASAP
• Language of Work: English, French (an asset but not a requirement)

Transportation: Fresh Market Foods will cover a one-time round-trip travel cost for the successful candidate to our location and back to their permanent residence at the end of the work period. This does not include the cost for a full trailer move (household goods, trailers, or large personal belongings etc.).
