WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for supervising and executing procurement activities related to the Strategic / Corporate Categories within Cement, Ready Mix, and Aggregates Business Units in Canada and the US.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Supervise and execute procurement activities related to the Strategic / Corporate Categories within Cement, Ready Mix, and Aggregates Business Units in Canada and the US, focusing on sourcing from a wide range of vendors for strategic / corporate MRO and Service categories.
  • Consolidate, standardize, and leverage high-value spend (Strategic) across two countries and five business units : Cement, CBM RMX & Aggregates, Prairie RMX & Aggregates.
  • Handle tendering and negotiate annual supply contracts with external vendors ranging from $30k to $50 million, multi-year, cross-BU spend, in accordance with procurement policies, best practices, and audit compliance.
  • Network and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure full compliance with corporate requirements, maximize coherence and execution excellence, and capture both immediate and long-term benefits, including savings and performance improvements for VCNA.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

  • Diploma or degree from an accredited College or University, preferably in Business Administration or Engineering.
  • Supply Chain Management, CPP, or PMAC designation is preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Procurement & Supply Chain, ideally in a manufacturing environment such as cement, construction, or heavy industry.
  • Prior experience managing a team is preferred.
  • SAP or ERP system experience is required.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Occasional exposure to inclement weather and higher noise levels in non-office areas. Periodic travel, including the ability to obtain a passport for visits to the Toronto office as needed.
