Job summary

Aversan Inc. in Montreal, Quebec, is seeking a Procurement supervisor to assist the procurement manager in managing department activities, planning, reporting and supplier relations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a procurement department.
  • Knowledge of electronic and mechanical technologies involved in space hardware.
  • Good understanding of ERP planning logic and tools.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including Excel.
  • Superior analytical, communication and interpersonal skills to manage changing priorities.
  • Bilingual French and English spoken and written.
  • Reliability, CGP & should be eligible to pass SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of buyer-planners.
  • Coordinates and supervises materiel planning and procurement activities according to established processes and performance indicators.
  • Provide coaching and training to buyer-planners and recommend additional training when necessary.
  • Participate in the recruitment process and performance evaluations of buyer-planners.
  • Identify risks and procurement issues related to programs or processes, analyze alternatives and develop viable recommendations
  • Proactively communicate and elevate to the necessary hierarchical level, supply issues related to quality, delivery and costs.
  • Monitor the evolution of the procurement process in the sector concerned Supplier Management
  • Build and maintain long‑term relationships with preferred suppliers
  • Identify, anticipate and manage risks inherent to suppliers
  • Participate in various improvement mandates and implementation of new procedures
  • Participate in and encourage the implementation of best practices, in material planning and procurement, that promote efficient operations, quality and on‑time delivery.
  • Participates in Operations vision exercises and leads operational initiatives
  • Supports internal and external audits and ensures that corrective actions are implemented as required in Departmental Management.
  • Assist the manager in the planning and budget monitoring of the department.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maintain and improve material planning, procurement and vendor management performance indicators.
  • Assists the manager in workforce planning, including reviewing and planning staff assignments and proposing solutions to conflicts and constraints.
  • Performs other duties as required, including, but not limited to, leading and supporting proposals and managing small projects or parts of projects.
  • Provides guidance and ensures that the department's general policies and processes are properly applied and adhered to by the department's staff.

Job Title

Procurement supervisor


We are currently seeking a qualified Procurement supervisor assists the procurement manager in the management of the department's activities. Helps develop and maintain a workforce with the key technical skills needed to ensure the successful execution and delivery of the company's products and projects. In addition, the incumbent manages aspects of the overall activities of the department, including resource management, planning, reporting, processes, metrics and proposal support.

Responsibilities

  • Superior analytical, communication and interpersonal skills to manage changing priorities within tight deadlines

  • Sense of urgency and strong problem‑solving and decision‑making

  • Bilingual French and English spoken and written (Deals with suppliers outside Quebec)

  • Reliability, CGP & should be eligible to pass SECRET clearance


Compensation

$90,000 – $105,000 CAD (annual salary)
