Qualifications

  • Experience with Smart Plant Materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or a large single project.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Mining projects experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop purchasing strategies and achieve best value for materials and equipment.
  • Improve lead time performance within the procurement process.
  • Set up the project delivery schedule with milestones.
  • Conduct meetings with suppliers and clients.
  • Coordinate and prepare EOIs and RFPs.
  • Maintain procurement information across schedules, drawings, specs and documents.
  • Administer procurement cycles from pre-qualification through award, expediting, inspection, delivery and close-out.
  • Administer invoicing and coordinate payments with clients.
  • Manage changes in coordination with project teams.

We are currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Procurement Specialist (Buyer) to join our team.

About The Role
  • Develop purchasing strategies and achieve overall best value for the supply of materials and equipment in co‑ordination with the project team.
  • Improve lead time performance within procurement process ensuring scheduled deliverables are received as planned.
  • Set up the project delivery schedule, outlining relevant milestones by obtaining and accurately documenting all relevant information by expediting supplier engineering deliverables received for review.
  • Conduct meetings with suppliers and clients.
  • Coordinate and prepare EOI’s and RFPs.
  • Maintain purchasing and expediting information related to the project deliverables, drawings, specifications and other documents by updating schedules and expeditor system modules.
  • Administration of the procurement cycle processes through the effective control of the pre‑qualification stage, bid evaluation process, to Recommendation of Award, expediting, inspection, delivery and close‑out.
  • Administration of invoicing, including receipt and validation of supplier submissions, and coordination of payment with clients.
  • Management of changes in coordination with project teams.
About You
  • Degree or diploma level qualification in relevant field is desirable and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of Procurement experience, preferably in consulting engineering or within a project environment.
  • Experience with EPC/EPCM Procurement automation systems for purchasing and expediting such as Smart Plant Materials.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Mining projects experience an asset.
  • The ability to meet the challenge of tight deadlines and providing exceptional services to our clients is a must.
  • Exceptional negotiating and networking skills would be a definite asset.
  • A proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously or a single project of major size and scale.
