Procurement Specialist

Procurement Specialist (6-Month Contract)

As a Procurement Specialist on a 6-month contract, you will play a key role in supporting our Supply Chain processes. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Logistics & Demand Planning, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical procurement activities, manage supplier relationships, and resolve issues related to delivery and costs within a fast-paced environment. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of our operational goals, making this a highly impactful role during your time with us.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate procurement of commodities, goods, and services from approved suppliers.
  2. Execute online purchasing through e-procurement/e-sourcing tools.
  3. Manage license renewals and ensure timely availability of materials.
  4. Work with Material Coordinators, Engineering, and Manufacturing to implement Change Plans efficiently.
  5. Liaise with suppliers, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all procurement-related information.
  6. Investigate and resolve delivery, costing, or invoicing issues, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  7. Maintain purchasing databases and documentation, including product specifications and costing.
  8. Oversee locally-controlled supply contracts and manage service level agreements.
  9. Monitor regulatory requirements for inbound shipping, including customs and tariffs, ensuring timely payment of related fees.

More about you:

Education & Experience:

  1. Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
  3. Strong organization and negotiation skills.
  4. Proficient in SAP, ERP/MRP, and Microsoft Office.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Ability to multitask and manage tight deadlines.
  7. Strong sourcing experience and ability to handle procurement tasks efficiently.
  8. Certification in Supply Chain Management (SCMP) is a plus.
  9. Familiarity with Ariba, Aconcagua, or Vulcan is desirable.

A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova.
