Job description

AECOM is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team in procuring water / wastewater treatment equipment. This role is critical in supporting our clients needs relating to large capital projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced in procurement implementation / coordination supplier relationship management legal and commercial negotiation and coordinating closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

Vendor Interaction and Management :

  • Engage with vendors throughout the negotiation process driving agreements to close.
  • Meet requirements for completeness competitiveness compliance quality cost-effectiveness and alignment stakeholder standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the wider project teams including the Owner Engineers Legal etc.

Contract Preparation and Legal Coordination :

  • Negotiate contracts for selected vendors and coordinate with legal counsel as needed.
  • Industry Knowledge and Pricing Trends :

  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends to ensure accurate pricing and effective vendor management.
  • Leverage market insights to optimize procurement and support cost-efficiency goals.
  • Qualifications :

    Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline : engineering finance business etc.
  • 6 years experience of procurement related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with large infrastructure capital project delivery is an asset.
  • Experience with municipal government clients is an asset.
  • Proven experience in procurement with a strong understanding of vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CPSM CPIM or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Excel).
  • Knowledge of water / wastewater treatment equipment and related industry standards is an asset.
