Procurement Quality Assurance Representative - RSG Manufacturing

Location – Pickering, ON

The Procurement Quality Assurance Representative (PQAR) is responsible for supporting the implementation of the project procurement quality assurance program for the Pickering Refurbishment & Boiler Replacement (RFBR) project.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Evaluate suppliers’ capability to provide items or services in accordance with procurement requirements prior to contract award.
2. Perform vendor qualification audits as required.
3. Conduct QA reviews of procurement packages, such as EQR packages and technical documents.
4. Prepare quality tender evaluations and bid evaluations.
5. Provide input in the selection of ITP control points based on technical requirements and lessons learned from other projects.
6. Perform source surveillance at supplier facilities as per approved ITPs in accordance with the RFBR project quality program.
7. Verify items at vendor locations and perform final inspections.
8. Sign the Quality Assurance Release in accordance with project instructions and distribute it.
9. Review and accept vendor documents such as inspection procedures, ITPs, and history dockets.
10. Interface with clients and suppliers to resolve quality issues and report major findings and negative trends to the Project procurement QA Manager.

Qualifications:

• University or college degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in major projects, with nuclear field experience considered an asset.
• Previous experience with manufacturing facilities on pressure boundary and nuclear components.
• Knowledge of procedures, processes, equipment, and techniques.
• Good knowledge of CSA N 285.0, CSA N 299, CSA N286-05, and ASME BPVC codes.
• Understanding of relevant CANDU systems and retube technology.
• Ability to write procedures and review technical documents.
• Experience with special processes (welding, heat treatment, NDE).
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness.
• Basic computing skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
