Procurement Quality Assurance Representative (PQAR) - Tooling

Location: Mississauga, ON


The PQAR - Tooling role supports the implementation of the project procurement quality assurance program for Pickering Refurbishment & Boiler Replacement (RFBR) Tooling. The PQAR reports to the Quality Assurance Manager Procurement.

Your role within the team:
  1. Evaluate supplier capability to provide items or services according to procurement requirements before contract award.
  2. Perform vendor qualification audits as required.
  3. Review procurement packages such as EQR, PDCL, and technical documents; prepare quality tender and bid evaluations.
  4. Contribute to the selection of ITP control points based on technical requirements and lessons learned.
  5. Lead and perform source surveillance at supplier facilities following approved ITPs in accordance with RFBR project quality program.
  6. Verify items at vendor locations and perform final inspections.
  7. Sign the Quality Assurance Release as per project instructions.
  8. Distribute the Quality Assurance Release (QAR).
  9. Review and approve vendor documents such as inspection procedures, ITPs, and History Dockets.
  10. Interface with clients and suppliers to resolve quality issues and report major findings and negative trends to the Procurement QA Manager.

The ideal candidate:
  • Holds a college degree in Engineering.
  • Has at least 15 years of experience working on major projects, with relevant nuclear experience being an asset.
  • Can read and interpret engineering drawings and documents.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of procedures, processes, equipment, and techniques.
  • Has good knowledge and experience with special processes (welding, heat treatment, etc.) and NDE.
  • Can write procedures and review technical documents.
  • Familiar with CSA N285.0, CSA N299 standards.
  • Understands relevant CANDU systems and retube technology.
  • Possesses basic computing skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
  • Has basic knowledge of electrical and pneumatic control systems.
  • Exhibits strong communication skills and effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Holds a valid Ontario Driver's License.
