The Role We Are Offering You

The incumbent of the position is responsible for ensuring effective estimation of costs, selection, negotiation, and management of suppliers and subcontractors to meet program requirements in line with CAE’s commercial practices while mitigating CAE’s risk.

Summary Of Key Responsibilities

1. Cultivate potential supplier relationships. Prepare, issue, and follow-up on Request for Quotations (RFQ) for large and complex subcontract programs.
2. Work with Solutions group to establish competitive procurement solutions and help drive and evaluate make-buy options. Lead the establishment and maintenance of the competitive landscape regarding Data, Parts, and Equipment (DP&E) procurement, and evaluate risks.
3. Lead the commercial evaluation of subcontractors’ proposals with a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
4. Negotiate subcontract agreements within technical scope, schedule, and budget, including flowdown of Program Terms and Conditions (SOW and T&Cs).
5. Draft subcontract agreements in line with company guidelines, including complex licensing arrangements.
6. Monitor subcontractor progress and performance to ensure timely and complete delivery of procured goods and services.
7. Exercise remedies where subcontractor performance is deficient and lead dispute resolution.
8. Collaborate with procurement to develop and implement improvements supporting organizational goals.
9. Manage budget and report to Senior Management.

Our Ideal Candidate Has

• 5-10 years of experience in Project Management, Project Engineering, Proposal Solutions Management, or Contracts Management.
• University degree in Engineering, Legal, or Business Administration.
• Strong knowledge of international purchasing practices, contracts, and dispute resolution.
• Experience negotiating with sole-source suppliers and dealing with aerospace OEMs is an asset.
• Knowledge of the aerospace simulation industry and experience in Software.
• Ability to work under operational pressure and deadlines.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
• Good organizational skills and self-direction to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of procurement tools (ERP systems) is a plus.
