BSA WIBERG in Oakville, ON is seeking a Procurement Planning Manager to coordinate timely delivery, replenishment cycles and data accuracy across raw materials for all Canadian plants and warehouses.

You will lead a procurement planning team, collaborate with Operations, Sales and R&D, drive cost-saving initiatives, optimize inventory levels, and ensure supplier relationships and SAP/MRP processes support efficient production and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to take initiative, sound judgment, and a strong critical mind.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Strong time and priority management as well as project management.
  • Knowledge of the food industry and distribution is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of MRP and order cycles.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken French and English.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the procurement and logistics planning team of BSA WIBERG and structure deliverables for Planners managing various categories of raw materials.
  • Coordinate the work of the Planners to ensure timely purchases of raw materials necessary for production and stock agreements.
  • Ensure inventories are kept at optimal levels to service customers’ orders and track actions on inventory reduction plans.
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers and local partners with focus on cost saving and catalogue improvement.
  • Participate in sourcing of new products for R&D projects.
  • Manage multiple projects from scope development to closeout within budget.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Sales, QC, Regulatory to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Coordinate with R&D and Production on discontinuations and harmonization of raw materials.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (VCP, S&OP, sustainability).
  • Recall team collaboration for raw materials and supplier communications as needed.
  • Monitor non-compliance actions and drive fast resolutions.
  • Engage with management to control inventory levels and update MRP metrics.
  • Stay current on transportation legislation and food standards.

Job description

The incumbent is responsible for coordinating the timely delivery, proper replenishment cycles and sourcing data accuracy on raw materials. This position requires close work with operations and sales where the Procurement Planning Manager works as the liaison of the anticipated needs and current needs to align on best strategy on raw material availability. The Procurement Planning Manager provides support to concerned departments in terms of efficiency of inventory management of raw materials for all Canadian plants and warehouses. She/he focuses on continuous improvement and is implicated in all ongoing cost saving strategies and playing an active part in it.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the procurement and logistics planning team of BSA WIBERG and structure deliverables for Planners managing various categories of raw materials.
  • Coordinate the work of the Planners to ensure timely purchases of raw materials (ingredients) necessary for production, new and ongoing projects and stock agreements.
  • Ensure that inventories are kept at optimal levels to service customers’ orders. Work and track actions on inventory reduction plans
  • Maintain good business relationships with suppliers, local partners with the continuous focus on cost saving and improvement of current catalogue
  • Participate in the sourcing of new products required for research and development projects.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple projects from early scope development to closeout delivering project objectives in a timely manner and in alignment with established budget (projects can be with other NovaTaste affiliates).
  • Develop and work in collaboration with key business functions (e.g., Operations, Sales, QC, Regulatory) and management, to implement protocols and processes for improving efficiency and quality of work.
  • Maintain close collaboration with the R&D, Quality Control and Production departments (e.g.: discontinuations of raw materials, rationalization of catalogue, harmonization, etc.)
  • Focus on active participation in the continuous improvement as mandated by management (e.g.: VCP, Slow movers, wins/losses, S&OP related meetings, Sustainability topics, etc.)
  • Be part of the recall team to obtain information on raw materials, contact suppliers and packaging managers as needed and find replacement ingredients.
  • Track Planners’ actions on non-compliances and act on fast resolution.
  • Work directly with management and stakeholders to control inventory levels by revising strategies, monitoring data, communicating results and periodically updating all MRP related metrics (ROPs, Safety stocks, Lead times, Cost of goods, contracts, commitments, etc.).
  • Know transportation legislation and food standards, policies and procedures and remain up to date.
  • Evaluate, approve suppliers and SKUs with the assistance of the Quality Control and R&D departments.
  • Ensure harmonization among all plants for best inventory management.
  • Work closely with corporate buyers on current and ongoing contract revisions.
  • Report savings on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in SAP upgrade projects and rollout programs.
  • All other related duties.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field. Any relevant academic background or certification in the Supply Chain Management can be considered.
  • Relevant experience of 3-5 years in a supervisory position.
  • Ability to take initiative, sound judgment, and a strong critical mind.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail and rigor, while respecting strict deadlines.
  • Strong time and priority management skills as well as project management skills.
  • Knowledge of the food industry, good processing and distribution is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of MRP module and order cycle as well as supply affecting measures (lead time, volume, landed cost, etc.).
  • Experience in SAP Supply Chain processes is an asset.
  • Ability to work closely with diverse teams.
  • Creativity, high autonomy, and the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously while respecting deadlines.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken French and English.
