Job summary

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.
  • Experience sourcing fabricated components, raw materials, or engineered parts is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and production-driven purchasing.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Canadian procurement practices and regulations.
  • Proven experience in working cross-functionally to align manufacturing with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute procurement strategies aligned with Wilcox Group’s operational, financial, and growth objectives.
  • Act as the primary authority for all procurement and sourcing decisions, including vendor selection, negotiation, contract administration, and ongoing performance management.
  • Lead all purchasing activities to ensure materials, components, and services are available to support production schedules, quality standards, and customer commitments.
  • Drive cost reduction, value improvement, and risk mitigation initiatives without compromising quality, safety, or vendor continuity.
  • Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, tariffs, and supply risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with Design, Production, Sales, Quality and Finance to support business needs while enforcing approved procurement processes and sourcing frameworks.

Job description

As the Procurement Manager at Wilcox Group of Companies, the Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and managing all purchasing and sourcing activities to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures materials, components, and services are obtained at the right quality, cost, and delivery timelines while building strong supplier relationships and supporting continuous improvement across the supply chain.

This role must promote and maintain a high level of communication with both internal departments and external Vendors. It is expected that this position displays professionalism and conducts business with the best interest of Wilcox Group of Companies in mind while following strong ethical and purchasing principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and execute procurement strategies aligned with Wilcox Group’s operational, financial, and growth objectives.
  • Act as the primary authority for all procurement and sourcing decisions, including vendor selection, negotiation, contract administration, and ongoing performance management.

Job Knowledge or Work Experience:

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Wears all required PPE when at manufacturing facility
  • Work in both an office and manufacturing environment
  • Occasional lifting required

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Possess valid drivers license and have reliable car
  • Possess valid Passport and be available and able to travel
  • May be required to work outside of normal working days and hours
