Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead regional sourcing and supplier management for Ground Support across Canada. This role develops purchasing strategies to reduce costs, mitigate risks, and drive operational excellence with global procurement partners.

You will manage supplier scorecards, ensure governance compliance, support inventory planning, and collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Logistics teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, economics or engineering.
  • SCMP/CPSM/CPIM/CSCP or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the full regional sourcing strategy with Ground Support global operations and supply chain.
  • Establish strong relationships with key suppliers and service providers.
  • Develop supplier scorecards and performance metrics focused on quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and responsiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement governance, trade regulations, import/export requirements, and supplier onboarding standards.
  • Develop category management strategies for key spend categories and establish long-term sourcing plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee and collaborate with PU’s regarding warehousing, transportation, distribution, and trade compliance.
  • Ensure reliable, cost-efficient logistics aligned with SLAs and OTIF targets.
  • Drive inventory control, safety stock, replenishment strategies, and improve planning accuracy and lead times.
  • Partner with Operations, Production Planning, Engineering, and Logistics teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Establish procurement and supply chain performance dashboards to monitor spend, supplier performance, inventory health, realized savings, and operational risks.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using data analytics to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service performance
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to support new product introductions, engineering changes, supplier qualification, and material readiness.
  • Collaborate with global procurement and supply chain teams to leverage best practices, supplier agreements, and sourcing opportunities.
  • Travel within Canada and occasionally internationally as required to support supplier reviews, audits, operational initiatives, strategic projects, and business continuity activities.

We currently have an opening for a Procurement Manager. This role is responsible for leading the strategic sourcing and procurement activities supplier management inventory optimization, and supply chain initiatives for the Ground Support business across Canada. The Procurement Manager develops and executes purchasing strategies that improve supplier performance, reduce cost, mitigate supply chain risks, and support operational excellence across all Ground Support facilities.

What you will be doing:
  • Developing and managing the full regional sourcing strategy in collaboration with Ground Support global operations and supply chain.

What you will bring along:
Work Experience:
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in supply chain, procurement, and logistics within a multinational environment.
  • Proven experience in supply chain management, procurement, and logistics at a regional or global level.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Expertise in ERP systems and data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of trade compliance, localization strategies, and risk management
Skills:
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify process gaps and implement improvements.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking – Cost optimization, process improvement, and decision-making
  • Logistics & Distribution – Warehousing, transportation, and trade compliance.
  • Inventory & Planning – Demand forecasting, safety stock, and lead time reduction.
  • Risk & Compliance – Business continuity and regulatory adherence
  • Project Management: Ability to lead and support projects from planning to execution.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with stakeholders across regions.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to create clear, compelling presentations and confidently present data, insights, and project outcomes to senior stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data handling and reporting.
Education and/or Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with emphasis in business administration, economics, and/or engineering.
  • Professional designation (SCMP, CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) considered an asset.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset.
