Role Summary

  • Be the interface between De Havilland and a group of our world-class aerospace supply chain partners.
  • Be accountable for managing the ongoing and assured supply of aircraft parts and services in line with De Havilland Canada’s requirements.
  • Be responsible for developing and improving the day-to-day relationship between De Havilland and its supply chain partners.
  • Training a team of buyers and implementing processes, metrics, and instituting a supplier management program
  • Providing expertise and assistance across all products and platforms to our team of buyers in the procurement organization.
  • Representing Procurement at all levels of the organization while working in a cross functional environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Key responsibilities include supplier delivered quality, on-time delivery performance, cost, inventory, and vendor continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve supplier performance and on-time delivery.
  • Manage supplier risk assessments, including standardizing and managing the process considering global risks to the industry, develop risk mitigation strategies and carry out actions. Optimize the number of approved suppliers per company specifications.
  • Lead sourcing activities for parts, materials, and services needed for all locations, production lines & support areas.
  • Support new programs and special projects in supply chain.
  • Represent Procurement in various cross-functional meetings and represent Supply Chain on engineering projects where suppliers are involved.
  • Engage fully with metric-based performance management system.
  • Provide leadership for escalation issues or complex supply chain issues.
  • Develop and manage a team of buyers to become a high performing Procurement team.

Education & Experience

  • 5 -10 years of Purchasing and or Procurement experience.
  • Management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience is the Aerospace sector is a benefit.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or MRO environment
  • Familiarity with Dash-8, DHC-6 Twin Otter, and CL Waterbomber aircraft is an asset
