Job summary

County of Lennox and Addington is seeking a procurement professional to oversee fair purchasing processes and ensure policy compliance. You will lead policy administration, support departments, and drive modernization in procurement technology.

The role requires a diploma/degree in purchasing or related field, 2–3 years in purchasing, and experience with public sector procurement. Strong Excel and accounting software skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in purchasing/business field with 2–3 years' purchasing experience.
• CPPB, CPPO or equivalent or enrollment would be an asset.
• OPBA membership and related certificate program understanding is preferred or willingness to enroll.
• Experience with electronic procurement platforms and RFQs/RFPs/tenders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate open, fair procurement processes per policy, legislation and directives.
• Administer and improve Purchasing Policy, procedures, templates and documents.
• Provide guidance to departments throughout procurement lifecycle.
• Track contract expiries and coordinate new tenders/quotations/renewals.
• Prepare procurement reports, tender summaries and compliance analytics.
• Lead procurement modernization initiatives and system implementations.
• Develop vendor relationships and monitor performance.
• Administer electronic bid/tender platforms and close opportunities.
• Review and approve Accounts Payable and reconcile ledgers.
• Administer the corporate Purchasing Card program.
