Responsibilities

  • Create and issue purchase orders while complying with internal procurement processes.
  • Oversee meeting room bookings, setup, cleanliness, and technology readiness.
  • Maintain accurate records, contracts, policies, invoices, and reports related to room usage and vendors.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and maintenance of office supplies, furniture, and equipment.
  • Support both procurement and facilities teams as needed.

About the Role

The WCB Nova Scotia is seeking one (1) student to support day-to-day operations of our Procurement & Facilities team. The term runs from September 2026, to December 18, 2026, for a period of 15 weeks with a flexible start date. Our Student Employment Programs aim to provide students with valuable work experience that contributes to their education and helps them gain work experience. The Procurement & Facilities Co-op Student will provide support in various procurement and facilities related areas that touch every aspect of the business operations.

Role specific duties can include:

  • Create and issue purchase order numbers while ensuring compliance with our internal procurement process.
  • Oversee meeting room bookings, setup, cleanliness, technology readiness, and space utilization to ensure an excellent employee experience.
  • Maintain accurate records, contracts, policies, invoices, and reports related to room usage, vendors, CORe standards, WCB requirements, and other administrative needs.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and maintenance of office supplies, furniture, and equipment.
  • Support to both the procurement and facilities teams as needed.

Your Experience & Skills
  • Have or be completing the first year of a post-secondary program and enrolled in a co-op program (those contacted for an interview will be asked to provide confirmation of enrolment in a co-op program for the fall 2026 semester).
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess strong keyboarding skills and be familiar with the use of various computer software/applications and other office technology.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Have a natural ability to build and maintain strong relationships and enjoy interacting with others daily, as well as work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate time management and organizational skills.
