Position Summary

Reporting to the Service Operations Manager, the Procurement and Inventory Coordinator plays an integral role in the execution of the procurement, inventory management and sourcing strategies. Accountabilities include providing support/training for inventory and purchasing, creation/monitoring of inventory reports, providing consolidated reporting and escalating non-compliance of inventory management tools to the respective Supervisors. This position also plays an active role in supporting basic inventory coordination and information supporting all BarW business units; ensuring procedures are executed appropriately and inventory accuracy in order to mitigate risk across the network.

What you will be doing?

  • Perform PO creation / PO management, remedy invoicing discrepancies and coordinate time-sensitive purchase order creation and delivery between vendors, sales team, BarW business units.
  • Work directly with internal business partners and suppliers to fill requests and requirements in a timely as well as determining supplier strategy and savings opportunities
  • Update supplier costs, including freight, brokerage, and article details.
  • Support and Cross-Training related to other areas within procurement and inventory management.
  • Asist in developing, implementing and improving inventory management processes / procedures to enhance inventory accuracy.
  • Analyze inventory performance for network and provide analysis and recommendations
  • Use results from cycle and inventory verification counts, as well as operational observations, to ensure that errors, inaccuracies, and discrepancies in inventory are identified.
  • Work collaboratively with associated staff to stress the importance of effective inventory management, their individual role in the site’s successful inventory management, and help identify and remediate any skill or training gaps ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the inventory management processes across all branches.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Are you qualified?

  • 2 - 5 years’ supply chain experience or dedicated post-secondary education in supply chain.
  • Supply chain management certification or professional purchasing designation (CIPS, SCMP) is an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple business units to achieve buy-in to both the importance of inventory management, along with the ability to identify noncompliance and root cause issues to support in developing corrective action plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Assessing and selecting suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability.
  • Being flexible and responsive to changing market conditions and organizational needs.
