The location in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Procurement Agent. This job is full-time and permanent.

Overview :

Reporting to the Regional Supply Chain Manager, you will be part of a results-oriented team encouraged to exceed expectations.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation to minimize industrial accidents and diseases. Control health and safety costs.
  • Work with procurement to manage equipment, materials, supplies, and outside services, ensuring cost-effective quality and service levels.
  • Expedite ordered goods, monitor shipping, follow up on backorders, and adjust orders as necessary.
  • Manage inventory setup and stocking, issue purchase orders, and support parts inventory for Ignace and Atikokan Sawmills.
  • Support vendor contracts and maintain the purchasing database.
  • Perform audits, manage accruals, handle month-end tasks, and oversee vendor modifications.
  • Follow Resolute's Purchasing Policies, review quotes, seek approvals, and manage purchase orders and related documentation.
  • Manage buyer emails, follow up on back-orders, and handle shipment delays and pricing issues.
  • Collaborate with operational personnel on material sourcing and costing.
  • Maintain parts ordering systems and interface with Accounts Payable / Receivable.
  • Support maintenance work order processes and inventory management.
  • Provide support for parts inventory at Sawmills.
  • Update and maintain purchasing records and databases.
  • Consult with your supervisor and perform special projects as needed.

Your profile :

  • Procurement / Supply Chain certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • 3-5 years in an industrial environment.
  • Willingness to travel and handle emergency calls outside regular hours.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and adapt to change.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and CMMS.
  • Physical capability to perform job duties in a wood products setting.
  • Strong safety ethic.
  • Ability to organize and implement best practices.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Attention to detail and strategic thinking skills.
