Job summary

Qualifications

The Procurement Advisor will play a key role in the integration of newly acquired businesses. This position involves identifying technology and enterprise contracts, analyzing overlaps with existing TMX suppliers, and coordinating supplier due diligence for non-standard contracts. This includes working with legal counsel, information security, and other cross-functional teams to ensure agreements align with TMX policies and standards. The Advisor will act as the primary liaison for Procurement, providing regular status updates to the Integration team.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Take a project management approach to managing multiple simultaneous complex sourcing files and ensure deliverables are met within the required timelines.
  • Execute end to end procurement lifecycle including: Support RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, supplier selection, supplier due diligence, and contract negotiation and execution working with legal counsel, information security and other cross functional areas of the organization to ensure agreements meet TMX policies and standards.
  • Ensure that the outcomes of due diligence supported by the procurement team are clearly understood by spend owners and all applicable procurement risk assessment protocols/procedures are complied with.
  • Engage end client stakeholders to understand key priorities and communicate and report to functional leadership and end client stakeholders the status of agreements and any critical external relationships that could otherwise impact planning and decision making.
  • Support the resolution of sophisticated contract related issues with suppliers as needed
  • Work on both complex and administrative tasks throughout the end to end procurement engagement.
  • Manage procurement activities related to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Actively manage and lead day-to-day supplier relationships for productive, mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Apply business intelligence and reporting made available by the Manager, Analysis and Reporting in order to make actionable recommendations on sourcing and supplier management for key suppliers.
  • Responsible for accurate data and analysis in monthly and quarterly reports to the team.
  • Proactively monitor and analyze performance and trends within categories to identify issues and opportunities that support the business.
  • Contribute to the development of improved strategic sourcing strategies and processes.
  • Identify high impact cost reduction opportunities.
  • Leverage the organization’s buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply.
Must have(s):
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant fieldwith minimum 5 years previous experience managing activities across the end-to-end IT procurement lifecycle
  • Demonstrated success in driving complex projects to completion through effective team leadership and delegation
  • Good understanding of technology and technology contracts; a legal background or formal legal training is a strong plus
  • Agile and adaptive, embracing change, new ways of working, tools, and technologies
  • Consistent performance in honoring commitments and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction
  • Delivers client-first service, addressing inquiries promptly and with a high sense of urgency
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Builds and maintains key relationships to proactively gather input and drive engagement through effective communication and problem resolution
  • Exceptional persuasion and negotiation abilities, coupled with strong stakeholder influence
  • Keeps up to date on new industry trends and best practices
Nice to Have(s):

  • Understanding of Third Party Risk Management

This role is hybrid (2 - 3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.

Salary Range: 80/hour-90/hour CAD
