Looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized self-starter who can efficiently utilize their superior communication skills to ensure that Boardwalk is procuring the required services at the best value. This role requires excellent time-management skills, a strong understanding of services buying, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with service providers. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner who enjoys working with a close-knit team, while also able to self-manage to complete tasks independently and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and select service providers based on Boardwalk’s needs and requirements.
- Develop and maintain a robust supplier base, ensuring competitive pricing and high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define service requirements and specifications.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including preparing, issuing, and receiving Request For Documents (RFx), evaluating bids and proposals, and selecting suppliers.
- Issue purchase orders, contracts, change orders, etc. as required.
- Ensure invoices are received and released for payment in a timely manner.
- Negotiate contract conditions, and pricing to ensure favorable terms and cost savings.
- Implement best practices for document control and contract lifecycle management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities, contracts, compliance reports, and vendor information.
- Stay informed about market conditions, industry trends, new technologies/products, etc.
- Liaise with other Boardwalk teams to provide project assistance.
- Provide internal and external customers with superior service.
- Manage and advance supplier relationships.
- Adhere to industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Create and administrate annual capital and operational budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes.
- Exercise independent judgement within Boardwalk’s procurement framework.
Experience And Educational Requirements
- Knowledge of French is an asset
- Post-secondary education or relevant experience required
- Background in services procurement, contract management, or project management an asset
Technical Requirements
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Strong Excel Skills – pivot tables/charts, XLOOKUP, nested formulas, etc.
- Ability to do basic financial analysis

- Superior communication skills (written and verbal) with a strong attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational, planning, and project management skills
- Must be a decisive self-starter and demonstrate initiative
- Able to analyze various situations and options, detect and prioritize urgent issues, and take appropriate action
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must be capable of quickly learning new skills and grasping new concepts (i.e., must be able to quickly understand the requirements of requested jobs and learn to ask the right questions)
- Ability to demonstrate fiscal responsibility
- Must be honest, energetic, and excited to be part of a diverse and supportive team
