WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Process Risk COE and Strategic Execution (PRSE) team is part of the RBC Enterprise Chief Control’s Office (ECCO) an RBC cross enterprise function is designed to unify and strengthen First Line of Defense (1LOD) risk activities across all Business Units (BUs) and Functions, driving consistency and bolstering control practices. The Process Risk COE and Strategic Execution is new a mandate focused being a trusted advisor to 1LOD risk managers by developing, implementing, and training on a proactive, standardized, scalable process management discipline that empowers the bank to reduce risk and execute processes consistently and independently to drive business improvement and deliver on strategic objectives and responsible for ensuring execution of RBC’s enterprise (Board, COE and Group Executive) initiatives meet outcomes, on time, on budget across multiple platforms. Working within a high-performance area of the bank, the team provides opportunities for skill development, career advancement, and the chance to work on the bank’s most ambitious initiatives.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

As a Process Risk Business Analyst, you will support a cross functional team in developing and standardizing the process management practices across the enterprise to ensure consistency in how processes are managed from a risk perspective. This role is an exciting opportunity to have exposure to a variety of strategic programs taking place across ECCO.

  • Assist director and Sr. Mangers with building proposals and presentations to support process risk decisions and program delivery for Sr. Management and executive governance routines
  • Analyze and document preparation and outcomes of strategic working sessions.
  • Perform comprehensive analyses leveraging frameworks, approaches, tools, data and methodologies and develop robust recommendations
  • Assist in facilitation of design sessions with stakeholders to design implementation plans for business strategies.
  • Support with complex business analysis and process playbooks of current state, risk controls, process mapping, process design.
  • Creates strategy materials and proposals to clearly communicate business value and outcomes to key stakeholders across the bank
  • Work closely with senior leadership, business unit leaders, and other key stakeholders to drive alignment and support for operational risk process assessment and standardization initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of risk management objectives and progress.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Demonstrated ability in proposal development, current state / future state design
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships at every level of the organization
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills and presence; strong technical ability with PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Graduate / post-graduate or professional designations or equivalent

Nice-to-have:

  • Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and across different lines of business
  • Ability to sensitize large data sets, link various pieces of information, uncover patterns to formulate a recommendation / achieve a target state
  • Risk Management or operations / process optimization experience
