About Us

Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.

The Role

Reporting to the process supervisor, your role will focus on ensuring the safe, effective and efficient operation of the Cigar Lake’s process areas. This entry-level role will provide you with the opportunity to learn and grow with Cigar Lake’s process team and is well suited for a motivated individual who wants to be involved in the day-to-day operations of the site.

In this role, you will:

  • Operate circuits as per outlined procedures and guidelines
  • Identify, document, and report any maintenance concerns
  • Assist senior operators as required

Required:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work both on surface and underground as required

Recommended:

  • Previous experience in an industrial workplace or uranium mill
  • Potable water treatment level 1 certification

Safety Sensitive Site

Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN).

The Cigar Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
