Job summary

CHAR Technologies Ltd. in Thorold, Ontario, is seeking a Process Operator to join CharTech Solutions. You will operate and monitor equipment for RNG and biocarbon production, conduct routine inspections, and coordinate feedstock storage.

This full-time, on-site role requires at least 2 years' manufacturing experience, strong knowledge of renewable energy processes, and the ability to follow technical manuals. Shifts and weekends flexibility are expected with opportunity for future leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating RNG and decarbonizing facilities (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies and processes.
  • Ability to interpret and follow technical manuals and diagrams.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with relevant computer software and systems.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and weekends, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor the equipment and systems used in the production of renewable natural gas and biocarbon.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment functionality and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Manage the storage and distribution of both feedstock and finished biocarbon products.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and ensure efficiency.
  • Implement and adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain detailed logs and records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and any incidents or accidents that occur.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to any emergencies or breakdowns in the production process.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Process Operator – CharTech Solutions

CHAR Technologies is currently looking for a Process Operator, reporting to the Director, Plant Operations located in Thorold, Ontario. You will play an important role to engage and lead the activities in our plant related to large scale, complex high temperature pyrolysis, renewable natural gas, and hydrogen plants. This position will be the first hire in the plant that will be staffed to support high volume, 7 days/week activity. The person in this position has the opportunity to grow with the company and potentially develop into a management position, leading the fully staffed operations team for the Thorold plant.

The position is an integral part of the CharTech Solutions team who works closely with many key stakeholders to ensure all operational activities are done at the highest level, with thorough documentation and communication of results.
