About the role

We are looking for a Process Improvement Manager to join our growing team. The Business Process Improvement Team (BPI) supports belairdirect to deliver on their targets by driving change and delivering initiatives that reduce cost, increase efficiency and improve the customer and employee experience. We work on projects that deliver in-year savings and initiatives that drive longer-term results.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in identifying and delivering process improvement initiatives across the organization. This position involves working in collaboration with a diverse team of operations primes, subject matter experts and process excellence specialists. The successful candidate will also work on building strong relations with Operations teams to enhance visibility on key initiatives, ensure projects are prioritized, drive alignment and deliver on key objectives.

What you’ll do here:

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead process improvement initiatives from Define to Control.
  • Manage multiple projects including defining the project scope and goals, selecting the appropriate methods and tools, managing the project resources and risks, and ensuring the project delivers the projected benefits on time and on scope.
  • Recommend improvements which increase efficiency and effectiveness based on data and facts.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to help drive change.
  • Lead meetings and create presentations on project progress.
  • Promote and apply best practices in Process improvement and change management.
  • Help deliver on operational efficiency targets.
  • Collaborate with management teams and business partners.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • (5+) years of experience identifying and implementing Continuous improvement & Lean initiatives.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in process improvement methodologies, tools and best practices. Lean Six Sigma green belt (black belt an asset).
  • Experience driving change within a large, complex multi-stakeholder business environment balancing competing objectives.
  • Ability to identify opportunities, build business cases and get cross-functional alignment.
  • Driven self-starter with the ability to lead, collaborate and influence with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving skills and root cause analysis is essential.
  • Excellent (proactive) communicator and strong presentation skills.
  • A desire to tackle challenges head on and keep forward momentum.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly and think strategically to challenge the status quo.
  • Experience in the Insurance industry (an asset).
  • No Canadian work experience required but must have authorization to work in Canada.
