The Opportunity :

WSP is seeking enthusiastic Process Engineers at various levels to join our growing Municipal Engineering team based in Edmonton, AB. Applicants residing outside of Edmonton will be considered.

The successful candidate will lead a team through pre-design, detailed design, and construction of water and sewer systems, including pump and lift stations, water and wastewater treatment facilities, wastewater collection systems, reservoirs, water distribution systems, and stormwater systems.

What you can expect to do here :

  • Integrate with our Municipal Engineering group and other teams across North America, proactively communicating to build relationships.
  • Serve as Project Manager and/or Process Lead for various projects.
  • Ensure project quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
  • Engage in business development, client relationship building, and proposal development to secure municipal projects.
  • Coordinate with team members, vendors, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, process schematics, and layout drawings, reviewing deliverables from colleagues.
  • Design and analyze lift stations, reservoirs, and process projects, including equipment sizing, hydraulic analysis, and 3D layouts.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, structural, civil teams for seamless project delivery.
  • Mentor and train junior staff.
  • Manage multiple projects, resources, and personal schedules.
  • Support senior staff with project support, budgeting, strategy, and training.
  • This role is primarily office-based with some travel and fieldwork opportunities.

What you'll bring to WSP :

  • Undergraduate degree in civil or mechanical engineering.
  • Current P.Eng registration in Alberta.
  • 5-20 years of relevant consulting engineering experience.
  • Experience in water treatment is an asset.
  • Experience in detailed design, procurement, contract administration, and commissioning.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and client relationship skills.
  • Proven ability to lead successful projects independently.
  • Graduate degrees are an asset.
  • Valid driver's license.
