Job summary

Purolator Inc. is seeking a Process Engineering Lead to drive process and performance excellence for First and Last Mile operations. You will lead evaluations of processes, systems, and technology and develop routines to ensure quality and safety standards.

The role requires 4+ years in transportation/logistics, Lean Six Sigma training, and strong leadership. You will collaborate with operations and multi-disciplinary teams, delivering on-time, within-budget improvements in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering or BS degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in a high availability Transportation/Supply Chain/Network Logistics operation.
  • Experience within Courier First and Last Mile is an asset.
  • Experience with transportation processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Lean/Six Sigma training (Green Belt or above) is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in an agile approach.
  • Problem solver and strategic thinker with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of detail and accuracy, consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills; bilingual English/French considered an asset.
  • Knowledge in MS applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Experience with UAT and JIRA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the evaluation of processes, systems, and technology impacting operations as per the approved business requirement.
  • Develop routines and best practices to ensure quality and performance.
  • Ensure processes comply with safety and quality standards.
  • Meet with operations managers to assess existing processes and document the voice of the customer.
  • Lead and manage exploration of process improvement strategies and related activities within First and Last Mile.
  • Collaborate with Process Manager – FLM to execute deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Lead and conduct lessons learned exercises for continuous improvement of standardized processes.
  • Provide the Process Manager with process documents and SOPs.
  • Communicate and update project status and activities to stakeholders.
  • Provide training and monitoring support to operations for system upgrades.

Description

Reporting to the National Manager, Deployment & Integration, the Process Engineering Lead is responsible for leading process and performance excellence programs within the First and Last Mile operations umbrella.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the evaluation of processes, systems, and technology impacting operations as per the approved business requirement
  • Develop routines and best practices to ensure quality and performance
  • Ensure processes comply with safety and quality standards
  • Meet with operations managers to assess existing processes. Document the voice of the customer and assess requirements for first and last mile
  • Lead and manage the exploration of process improvement strategies, documentation, data collection, defect management, and take-to-market activities within the first last mile
  • Work with the Process Manager – FLM to execute deliverables assigned to complete the project scope on time and within budget
  • Lead and conduct lessons learned exercises for continuous improvement of associated standardized processes
  • Provide the Process Manager with process documents and standard operating procedures
  • Communicate and update project status and activities to all stakeholders
  • Provide training and monitoring support to operations for system upgrades
Education
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering/BS degree in Engineering graduate considered an asset
Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in a high availability Transportation/Supply Chain/Network Logistics operation.
