Job description

  • To provide support, direction, and future definition for Process Specialist function
  • To develop and maintain a model for process control optimization
  • Develop, coordinate and deliver training program for operators and quality auditors for key product and process characteristics
  • Develop and maintain IATF 16949 and ISO14001 systems

Ø Liaison with External register for the coordination of third-party audit activities

Ø Liaison with Customer for non-conformance and product issues

Essential Functions:
  • Facilitates/leads the investigation into all reported shop floor deficiencies (downtime issues, Product nonconformances, scrap issues)
  • Identify methods of control for all Key Process Input Variables.
  • Designs, implements and monitors Statistical Process Control where necessary
  • Lead/Participate in problem solving activities to resolve internal and external quality issues.
  • Key Liaison with Product Engineering group
  • Lead Corrective Action efforts for Top 5 Scrap and Rework opportunities
  • Conducts investigations on non-conformances and implement corrective action to prevent reoccurrence where required
  • Develop shop floor training program for communicating Key Product Output variables, key customer satisfaction variables, and methods of control for Key Input Variables.
  • Initiate, track, and implement ECR’s aimed at optimization of Plant Operations
  • Apply 6 sigma techniques in the resolution of process, quality, and system deficiencies.
  • Make Recommendations and initiate Plant Wide Quality/Process System Improvements including alternative materials, equipment, gauging, systems, error proofing, and methods.
  • Conducts system, process, and product audits as required
Qualifications:
  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a strong background in Metallurgy and Heat Treatment methodologies preferred.
  • IATF 16949 Lead auditor designation
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Solid understanding of GD&T
  • Strong Computer skills (MS Office), Strong Excel and Access skills
  • Visual basic programming an asset
  • Ability to read prints
