Job summary

Excelitas Technologies in Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC, is seeking a Process Engineer/Scientist to support silicon and III-V device fabrication. The role involves developing, optimizing and controlling manufacturing processes while leading continuous improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate with product owners, ensure safety compliance, and contribute to process qualification and transfer to production. English and French fluency are required, with a strong team orientation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (physics, electrical, chemical), or chemistry.
• At least 1 year of experience in microelectronic device fabrication processes.
• Experience in plasma etching and wet etching is an asset.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma and statistical process control (green belt a plus).
• Proficiency in French (spoken and written) and English for international communication.

Responsibilities

• Comply with and promote workplace health and safety measures.
• Provide technical support for fabrication processes of silicon devices, III-V photodiodes and laser emitters.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement using Six Sigma methodology.
• Develop, maintain and optimize automated process control mechanisms.
• Participate in development, qualification and transfer of processes to production.
• Design, plan and carry out experimental studies to improve manufacturing processes.
• Communicate results through reports, presentations, and team discussions.
• Establish and meet project timelines; train and support production personnel.
• Maintain documentation, change-management, quality policy and NPI processes.
• Participate in equipment selection, acquisition and qualification.
• Maintain cleanroom standards and a compliant work environment.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.

We are looking for a Process Engineer or Process Scientist to support the fabrication of microelectronic devices on silicon and III-V materials. You will work closely with product owners to develop, optimize and control manufacturing processes, while leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Your responsibilities:

• Comply with and promote workplace health and safety measures;
• Provide technical support for the fabrication processes of silicon devices, III-V photodiodes and laser emitters;

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (physics, electrical, chemical), physics or chemistry;
• A master’s degree or additional relevant experience (an asset);
• At least 1 year of experience in microelectronic device fabrication processes;
• Experience in plasma etching and in wet etching (an asset);
• Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology and of statistical process control (green belt certification, an asset);
• Experience in project management (an asset);
• Strong organizational skills, rigor and ability to work effectively in a team environment;
• Proficiency in French (spoken and written) to operate in a francophone work environment;
• Excellent skills in English (spoken and written) for technical and international communications.
