Job summary

Hatch is seeking a process engineer in Mississauga, ON to design flowsheets for various ores and feedstocks, optimizing the business case for implementation.

You will assist in feasibility studies and detailed design for metals projects, with emphasis on lithium, rare earths, and other battery materials, and support mass balance modelling and equipment data sheet development.

Qualifications

• Process experience in metallurgical projects, especially metals processing (lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper, zinc, gold, rare earths).
• Qualification in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering from an accredited program.

As The Successful Candidate, You Will

• Design flowsheets for each unique ore or feedstock, optimizing the business case for implementation
• Assist in feasibility studies and detailed design for metals; particularly lithium, rare earths and other battery material related projects
• Prepare design calculations and documentation and development of mass balance models in simulation software (METSIM, SysCAD, IDEAS)
• Provide process design requirements to designers
• Prepare process equipment data sheets, including technical details and duties as required.
• Ensure process specifications portray the appropriate information and design intent.
• Participate in Hazops
• Work with the project team to prepare capital and operating cost estimates.
• Assist in plant commissioning for metals, battery material and rare earths

You Bring To The Role

• Process experience in either an engineering contracting environment or consultancy organisations in the metallurgical industry. Experience in the design and operation of hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy processes for metals - lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper, zinc, gold and rare earths will be highly regarded, as will operational experience.
• Recognised qualifications in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Planning and organizational skills
• Good general computer literacy

Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
