Job summary

IPG is a global leader in packaging and protective solutions, expanding its team. We seek a Process Engineer in Engineering to lead projects that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.

You will work with operations to identify opportunities, implement innovative solutions, and drive measurable improvements across the business. A Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering and 3–5+ years in manufacturing engineering are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
  • 3-5+ years in manufacturing engineering or related field.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid data analytic skills.
  • Strong interest in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • MS Office proficiency and computer literacy.
  • Understanding of plastics chemistry and extrusion processes.
  • Experience with advanced analytics, AI, IIoT or advanced process control is recommended.
  • Knowledge of Toyota Production System is recommended.
  • Six Sigma certification or experience is recommended.
  • Experience in sustainable practices such as zero landfill or circular economy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct employee training for new equipment and processes.
  • Develops and implements production methods and controls to meet quality at cost.
  • Recommend equipment and processes for new products.
  • Investigate and remedy manufacturing process problems.
  • Establish relationships with outside personnel to meet project objectives.
  • Apply knowledge of products, processes and equipment to design and analysis.
  • Maintain detailed records on all projects.
  • Evaluate equipment problems and design requirements.
  • Evaluate environmental compliance projects related to process function.
  • Issue periodic status reports.
  • Coach operating personnel to reduce waste.
  • Review vendor proposals for equipment purchases or upgrades.
  • Develop and communicate work instructions and procedures.
