Business unit: Flexible Packaging Department

Your mission:

This position plays a pivotal role in supporting safe, efficient mill operations by optimizing production processes, tracking performance metrics, and resolving process and control issues. It contributes to capital projects, maintenance turnarounds, and the development of best practices, while mentoring others and pursuing continuous improvement.

• Develop area KPIs
• Track downtime and report production losses
• Determine and document process operating best practices
• Troubleshoot process and control issues
• Advise Operations staff on process opportunities and operating parameters
• Maintain and develop process control specifications
• Assist in maintenance turnarounds
• Mentor and train junior engineers, operators, and other staff
• Identify and pursue personal and professional development opportunities

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process, or related Engineering from an accredited institution
• Eligibility for P.Eng. registration in Alberta is an asset
• Experience in pulp and paper or related manufacturing sectors is a strong asset
• Familiarity with process control systems and data analysis tools (e.g., DCS, PI, Excel)
• Experience in capital projects or process improvements
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in industrial environments
