Job summary

Linxus Group in Edmonton seeks a Process Engineer with a gas processing focus to lead design work, run simulations, and support FEED studies. You will coordinate with project teams to ensure scope and schedule, review drawings, and assist procurement while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, APEGA registration, and either a P.Eng designation or active progress toward it, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering or equivalent technology degree.
  • Registered with APEGA in good standing.
  • P.Eng designation or working towards it.
  • At least 5 years of Process Engineering experience with a gas processing focus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure process engineering is done accurately and to high standards with compliance to applicable codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate with process engineers and project team members as well as project managers to ensure the execution of design work is in accordance with project scope and schedule.
  • Support procurement activities as required for the scope of the equipment.
  • Assist with developing process engineering related standards, procedures, and tools.
  • Ensure safety is a primary concern in all design work done.
  • Simulation of process designs.
  • Prepare conceptual & FEED studies.
  • Support process safety studies (HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, LOPA, etc.). Generation of PFD, heat and material balance and P&IDs.
  • PSV and flare network sizing.
  • Support procurement of sub vendor equipment (pumps, air coolers, compressors, trays & internals, etc.), process sizing details, issuing of RFQs, quote comparison, vendor selection.
  • Preparation of process information for instrumentation design and selection.
  • Determine line sizing and generate line list.
  • Attend and actively participate in 3D model review sessions.
  • Prepare operating manuals, shutdown keys and alarm, and set point lists. Review client specifications, applicable codes and regulations.
  • Review and approval of fabrications drawings.
  • Peer review of other process engineers designs and equipment sizing.
  • Work with other engineering disciplines to ensure proper design of all equipment.
  • Shop walk down and PI&D review of assembled process packages
