Job description

Dryden Fibre Canada is currently seeking an individual to join the Dryden Team. The city of Dryden is located on the North shoreline of the Wabigoon Chain of Lakes along the Trans-Canada Highway. It is located midway between Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is surrounded by wilderness, lakes, and landscapes.

Your Role:

Reporting to the Technical Superintendent, your role will be to provide process engineering support for process safety, quality and productivity improvement initiatives, cost reduction activities, environmental improvement efforts.

More specifically, you will:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor, analyze and interpret process data, to optimize throughput, minimize costs, and enhance safety and environmental compliance.
  • Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to support the planning and execution of continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Development team to identify bottlenecks and plan and execute modernization strategies.
  • Participate in capital investment projects and support all aspects of implementation (design, budget, schedule, install and commissioning)
  • Support the continuing effectiveness and improvement of our Quality Management, Environmental Management, Process Safety and Continuous Improvement processes.
  • Provide weekend on-call coverage for Environmental control in a rotation with other team members.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical/Industrial), with eligibility for PEO certification.
  • Proven background in analytical and problem-solving and a passion for driving operational excellence.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
  • A safety-oriented mindset with the desire to enforce and follow mill safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities, including technical writing, budget preparation and presentations.
