Process Development Scientist – Product Development & Innovation

Chinova Bioworks is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a Process Development Scientist. This position reports to the Head of Product Development.

Duties and Responsibilities

*Work closely with research and development teams to scale up novel natural compound extraction processes.

*Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) to enhance product yield and purity and report results to leadership.

*Perform scale-up and scale-down studies to evaluate and select appropriate equipment.

*Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, budget estimates, risk assessments, and contingency plans.

*Oversee the installation of new equipment, production lines, and facility improvements.

*Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, quality assurance, and research & development, to define project scopes, objectives, and timelines.

*Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

*Maintain comprehensive laboratory records and adhere to laboratory quality plans, QA/QC measures, and SOPs.

*Work safely and contribute to updating and improving laboratory safety practices.

Knowledge and Skills:

*Strong understanding of process development, scale-up methodologies, and extraction techniques.

*Knowledge of scientific approaches, methodologies, and current technological developments in the field.

*Experience designing, organizing, and coordinating scientific research and process optimization projects.

*Ability to conduct data analysis and extrapolate findings to improve processes.

*Knowledge of safety procedures and regulatory compliance in a lab and production environment.

Education / Experience:

*Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field.

*Experience in a lab or production environment with a focus on process development and scale-up.
