Job description

Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 6,100 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region.

PWPSD seeks a master teacher who is committed to student learning, equity, and wellness, possessing the skills and work ethic to engage students, staff, parents, and the community in developing a research-driven, student-centered learning environment. We seek a teacher who is truly committed to ongoing professional development and adept at supporting all staff in their professional growth. Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education degree
  • Current Alberta Teachers Certificate
  • Experience and/or graduate work in Literacy or Assessment is an asset
  • Aspired to excellence in all competencies of the Teaching Quality Standard
  • Committed to research-driven professional practice and able to work collaboratively
Responsibilities
  • Guide quality assessment practices to enhance student learning
  • Facilitate literacy intervention programs
  • Support ongoing use of diagnostic benchmark assessments
  • Plan, organize, and conduct teacher training, conferences, or workshops
  • Mentor and coach teachers to develop skills
  • Introduce research-based pedagogy
  • Analyze school and district data
  • Review and recommend educational resources
