Probationary Full-Time Junior/Senior High Math and Physics Teacher

Matthew Halton High School, located in Pincher Creek, Alberta, is seeking to hire exceptional teachers. We are looking for a probationary, full-time Junior/Senior High Math and Physics Teacher. The contract will start on August 25, 2025, and end on June 26, 2026.

Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Ability to monitor student progress on modified programs
  2. Experience working in small groups; knowledge of SIVA is an asset
  3. Appropriate educational training and experience teaching Alberta curricula
  4. Knowledge of current best practices in math and a background in Physics
  5. Understanding of outcomes-based assessment practices
  6. Willingness to collaborate within an instructional team
  7. Commitment to building relationships with students to foster a safe, caring, and welcoming environment
  8. Strong communication skills with parents, including regular updates beyond report cards
  9. Excellent organizational and classroom management skills
  10. Experience developing diverse assessments such as portfolios and projects
  11. Passion for working with ethnically diverse students, including First Nations, Metis, and Inuit populations
  12. Ability to support students with diverse academic, behavioral, emotional, and curricular needs
  13. Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility to obtain one
