Job description

Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant assists the Occupational Therapist in the practice of occupational therapy to include development deficits, activities of daily living work conditioning, range of motion, coordination, balance endurance, cognition, and exercise programs to restore function and increase strength.

Your Responsibilities as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant – Acute Care

  • Prepare equipment for treatment and assist an Occupational Therapist with rehabilitative activities for patients
  • Establish strong relationships with each patient so that they have the ability to exceed their functional goals
  • Demonstrate a positive connection with patients, fellow clinicians, and other team members
  • Build and maintain relationships throughout the community

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an APTA or CAPTE approved occupational therapist assistant program
  • State Licensure
  • Basic Life Support Certification via the American Heart Association
