Role Overview:

As a private investigator at AFIMAC, you will conduct a variety of investigative activities, including undercover surveillance, social media investigations, corporate surveillance, interviews, and handling disability files.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly rate: $30.00 to $45.00 before overtime
  • Hotel accommodations provided when required
  • $30 per diem when lodging is necessary
  • Contract duration: 1-120 days

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveillance to gather evidence related to corporate matters such as employee misconduct, intellectual property theft, and unauthorized activities.
  • Investigate workplace incidents including theft, fraud, harassment, and misconduct.
  • Verify the authenticity of disability claims through interviews, medical record reviews, and evidence collection.
  • Document evidence using various investigative techniques and tools.
  • Prepare detailed reports adhering to legal standards and client requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients, legal teams, and stakeholders, providing updates and supporting litigation when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards throughout investigations.

Undercover Investigations:

Specialize in covert surveillance to gather intelligence in settings such as factories, restaurants, and nightclubs.

  • Perform discreet surveillance using various techniques and equipment.
  • Report findings accurately and comprehensively.
  • Conduct background checks, interviews, and research, blending into environments effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and law enforcement agencies.
  • Adhere to legal and ethical standards in all investigations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Private Investigator license in Ontario.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice within Ontario for extended periods (minimum 4 weeks).
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical ability to sit, walk, stand, and drive for long durations.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada as a Canadian resident.
  • Experience handling confrontational situations and de-escalation skills.
  • Experience with court injunction processes is preferred.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Bonus: experience in policing, military, or related fields.
