THE ROLE
As a member of our team, you’ll be responsible for helping to create a range of differentiated product throughout our market. The Private Brand team is developing, sourcing and maintaining a portfolio of products across our stores. The Private Brand team is responsible for development of core business concepts that include Product Specification, Packaging, Artwork, Implementation, Marketing and Communications. WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Private Brands Product Manager is responsible for product development and management of the assigned product portfolio in the Circle K family. The Product Manager manages the relationships with Suppliers, Manufacturers, Creative, Procurement and Operations as well as stewarding all necessary quality and safety controls, and is ultimately responsible for the superior execution of developed programs while seeking / developing new opportunities for growth.
Here's an overview of the main responsibilities of this position:
Develop and execute product development strategies that align with overarching category goals and deliver measurable business results.
Manage Private Brand categories to secure optimal COGS, improved profitability and differentiation in our markets.
Manage product development and implementation with manufacturers, distributors and cross functional teams including operations, creative teams, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure seamless execution of product launches.
Procurement and Operations and secure product placement of Private Brand products.
Secure compliance ofpackaging, design and legal requirements for products in collaboration with QA / Legal and required regulatory agencies.
Collaborate with Circle K Business Area and Business Units to secure adoption and implementation of products
Build a pipeline of innovation initiatives and relevant product lines in order to deliver on tomorrow.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales, gross profit, and market share.
Leverage data analysis tools to evaluate product performance and identify areas for improvement.
Achieves financial objectives by preparation of annual business plan.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
We want you to join our team! Here's what we're looking for:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years experience in vendor selection, management, supply chain and quality assurance in a retail or CPG environment.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in Merchandising, Operations or related retail function.
Demonstrated experience leading businesses or product lines in excess of $100M.
Skilled using marketing metrics, consumer insights and data analysis to drive business decisions.
Knowledge and skills:
Action orientation and results-driven mindset.
Analytical skills and interested in fact-based decision making.
Strong understanding of retail store operations and needs is a plus.
Hands on ability to collaborate with different functions in the organization.
Knowledge of creative and marketing impact on consumer perception.
Experience with working across multiple cultures is an advantage.
Proven problem-solver with excellent written and verbal communication skillsand attention to detail.
Category management and/or product development skills.
Project Management competencies is a plus
Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, and Word, BI and PBI is a plus
Travel:
30% Travel is required in North America, with some external travel likely.
Valid Driver’s License.
