Position Summary:
Reporting to the Printing Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician is responsible for supporting daily manufacturing electrical operations of printing machines, identifying continuous improvement opportunities to enhance manufacturing reliability and productivity, and providing technical support to achieve production targets and departmental objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to printing operations by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Lead resolution of escalated electrical issues using problem-solving methodologies.
- Communicate electrical issues during shift changeover meetings.
- Report on process compliance and process improvements to the Maintenance Supervisor and Electrician Lead.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Participate in improvement projects and establish standard work procedures.
- Assist in implementing maintenance process changes and in the accreditation of new or upgraded processes.
- Support process engineers with documentation, spare parts, and preventative maintenance planning for new projects.
- Identify skill gaps and participate in training and development plans.
- Ensure safety protocols, including PPE usage, food safety, HACCP, and SQF standards, are followed.
- Participate in safety investigations and hazard eliminations.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Industrial Electrician (Ontario).
- Minimum two years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, standing, walking, climbing, and other physical tasks.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret relay and ladder logic diagrams, power distribution drawings, and control systems.
- Experience with AC/DC motors, drives, sensors, detectors, and PLC-based control systems.
