Job description

Principle Technical Program Manager, MADS Traffic Reporting

Passionate about Big Data and Distributed Systems? Interested in building new state-of-the-art products at Petabyte scale? Be part of a team of industry leading experts that operates one of the largest big data analytics platforms at Amazon. We are responsible for end-to-end processing of impressions, views, and clicks. We apply the latest machine learning and big data technologies to terabytes of data daily, operating Petabyte-sized clusters. Our data must always be the fastest, most high-fidelity data, as it is billable, critical for monitoring campaign health, and used to measure campaign success.

Candidates should demonstrate leadership skills with analytical abilities and a drive to deliver results. This role requires deep technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Own successful delivery of large, high-impact, cross-functional product initiatives while managing smaller projects.
  2. Drive strategic planning, discovery, and prioritization by partnering with product managers and engineering leads to develop roadmaps, identify dependencies, and allocate resources.
  3. Ascertain the true requirements behind feature requests; recommend alternative technical approaches and lead engineering efforts to meet deadlines.
  4. Communicate plans, status, and critical issues clearly to executive management.
  5. Serve as a technical liaison between customers and engineering teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience designing or architecting systems (design patterns, reliability, scalability).
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating releases.
  • Experience owning and driving roadmap strategy and definition.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience managing complex technology projects.
  • Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating releases.
