Job Description - Principal Structural Designer (SUD004Q):

Position Title : Principal Structural Designer, Sudbury location

Purpose : Deliver structural design and drafting services that meet Worley, the client, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. This position is based in the Sudbury office and may involve workshare with other offices.

Responsibilities :

1. Work on a variety of Mining and Metals projects, delivering design drawings and final construction/detail drawings for engineering projects.
2. Ensure drawing packages are delivered within the project schedule.
3. Participate in design review sessions.
4. Coordinate work with other discipline engineers and designers.
5. Experience with project E3D setup, coordinating with the engineering data management group.
6. Ensure compliance with QA, safety, and environmental goals.
7. Promote productivity-enhancing initiatives to positively influence project execution and/or design.
8. Prepare 2D drawings (extracted from 3D models or drafts), including general arrangements, plans, sections, and details.
9. Prepare structural Material Take-offs.
10. Prepare as-built drawings.
11. Travel to sites as required by the project.

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience :

• Senior-level experience working on mining/industrial projects, modeling steel and concrete structures.
• Proficiency with Aveva E3D or PDMS; 3D modeling experience is essential.
• Knowledge of other 3D software is an asset.
• Ability to work independently, provide advice and guidance to other designers, and train & mentor junior designers and drafters as needed.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training :

Required : Technical Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering
