Job summary

Veeva Systems seeks a Principal Software Engineer to help found and build our next AI-driven platform for life sciences safety, regulatory, and clinical development. You will shape the codebase and engineering culture from the ground up, leveraging AI to boost productivity and drive high-quality software.

You’ll lead feature ownership, mentor the team, and collaborate across Product and Development to design scalable, maintainable solutions for live customers within a dynamic, fast-paced

Qualifications

• 12+ years of proven software development experience with production-level Python.
• Experience building high-scale enterprise SaaS cloud applications.
• Architecting and building high-volume products at scale.
• Hands-on use of Open Source tools including Python, Git, FastAPI, Pydantic.
• Strong communication in English and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Own all stages of feature implementation from design and development through deployment, production support, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Development on technical design and problem-solving to deliver quality code.
• Rapidly analyze complex problems, identify knowns and unknowns, to accelerate robust solutions.
• Define, promote, and mentor on engineering best practices and coding standards, including AI-assisted engineering.
• Provide comprehensive code reviews for engineers at all levels.
• Mentor engineering talent to grow team performance and capability.
