Reporting to the VP of Innovation and Technology, as a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving our digital transformation and enhancing the user experience for our diverse customer and employee base. You will lead a team of software engineers and collaborate with our digital commerce and operational teams to build, enhance, and deliver trusted, market-leading technology solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable manner.

About the Opportunity

• Drive and execute our strategic roadmap for digital innovation aligned with organizational priorities and emerging industry trends.
• Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning across the organization.
• Lead the design and development of digital solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance decision-making, and support resident-centered care.
• Promote user-centered design principles to ensure solutions meet the needs of residents, families, and staff.
• Champion data-driven decision-making and the integration of advanced analytics and AI into digital initiatives, including those focused on health improvements and care delivery models.
• Build support and improve connections with mobile and web technology, ensuring smooth data flow and accessibility across devices. The digital experience should span multiple channels (e.g., responsive web apps, mobile apps, internal tools).
• Design and deliver an e-commerce tool that meets organizational needs.
• Develop integrations that maintain and enhance the functionality and usability of enterprise commerce platforms.
• Experience designing experiments (A/B tests), analyzing user behavior, and iterating on product features to improve conversion and revenue.
• Conduct regular QA testing to ensure data accuracy and secure data exchange.

About You

In addition to valuing continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability, you bring:

• 5 years of experience leading high-performing engineering teams and practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• 3 years of experience with e-commerce development, integrations, and mobile development.
• Advanced knowledge in at least one or more programming languages.
• Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with considerable expertise in one or more technical disciplines.
• Practical cloud-native experience.
• Strong understanding of AI, data analytics, automation, and emerging technology trends.
• Experience in healthcare, hospitality, long-term care, or related sectors is considered an asset.
• Proven track record applying AI is considered an asset.
