Job Overview:

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a rapidly growing and expanding live production control system adaptable for use in workflows ranging from traditional broadcast studios to highly scalable IP based facilities, and the growing field of streaming and cloud-based productions.

This is an 8-month contract position

What the job is all about:

  • Embedded software application design on Embedded Linux platforms, container, or similar environment.
  • Developing new and extending features within the existing application framework.
  • Developing interfaces that facilitate communication within and between application modules
  • Troubleshooting and debugging developed applications and interactions with other system modules
  • Estimate development tasks and project effort levels
  • Participating in code design and code reviews

Who you are:

  • Minimum 7 years SW & Embedded development experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree, program certificate or equivalent experience Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related field.
  • Programming experience in one or more of the following languages Java, Go, C, C++
  • Experience with SQL Databases and related technologies, including SQLite and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with technologies used to create interfaces with servers/modules including gRPC, HTTP/REST, and others.
  • Experience with Agile software development methods (e.g. Scrum), issue tracking (e.g. Jira) and version control systems (e.g git)
  • Other experience, desirable skills or areas of interest, considered a plus:
    • Unix/Linux command line tools and scripts
    • Python scripting
    • HTML and JavaScript based Web Page development
    • Live production or Broadcast industry experience or knowledge of relevant workflows, standards, and practices
  • You revel in problem solving, take ownership of and have pride in your work
  • You enjoy the creative process of ‘finding a way’ to overcome challenges
  • You are a flexible, adaptable, self-starter that thrives in a dynamic environment
  • You like people and working with a skilled team.
  • You recognize that communication skills are as important as technical skills.
