Overview of the Role

Are you a seasoned DevOps professional looking to elevate software delivery at scale? At Upshop, we’re seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to lead in optimizing our CI/CD pipelines, managing code repositories, and ensuring seamless, high-quality software releases across our development teams.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with engineering leaders to maintain efficient deployment workflows, drive automation initiatives, and deliver tools that keep our platform running smoothly. Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and implement cloud infrastructure solutions on Azure and GCP, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  2. Provide deep technical expertise in cloud networking, including VPCs, load balancing, and network security.
  3. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and efficient deployment of applications, network configurations, and services.
  4. Provide expertise in cloud platforms, primarily Azure, focusing on networking, storage, and virtualization.
  5. Ensure cloud infrastructure complies with security standards and regulations, and participate in security incident responses.
  6. Support mission-critical applications and components, ensuring they are monitored and meet security, reporting, retention, and disaster recovery requirements.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degrees are preferred.
  2. Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and GCP.
  3. Proficiency in automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, etc.
  4. Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Azure DevOps and GitLab.
  5. Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  6. Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell, Ruby, etc.
  7. At least 8 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and network engineering.
  8. Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable cloud solutions.
  9. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  10. Ability to mentor and lead technical teams.
  11. Occasional travel (10%) required.
  12. Hybrid work with the ability to work in-office in Austin or Toronto.
