As a Principal Security Architect, you will support development of long-term cyber security strategies and roadmaps, using architecture methodologies and security frameworks. In addition, you will participate in the development of the bank’s security architecture and broader enterprise architecture efforts.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
  1. Lead the security and resilience architecture teams, oversee the development and maintenance of technology solutions, and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  2. Engage with global stakeholders to provide architectural direction, participate in design councils, and ensure the quality and accuracy of standards and frameworks.
  3. Foster a customer-focused culture, ensure operational effectiveness, and implement a people strategy to attract, retain, and develop team members.
  4. Lead development of strategic security and resilience roadmaps and architecture plans including their respective value.
  5. Maintain and periodically review information security patterns, frameworks and standards that align with Scotiabank’s (BNS) Enterprise Architecture directives and industry best practices, meet business needs and SLA requirements.
  6. Develop and implement a robust security architecture process that ensures a current view of all security capabilities of the Bank are available and can inform development of a target state architecture that adheres to BNS security standards and best practices.
  7. Interface routinely with technology peers in financial services and other industry sectors to learn about good practices and gain insight into industry trends and experiences.
  8. Develop conceptual and logical security architectures for security capabilities in areas of Cloud Security, Application Security, Data Security, Endpoint Security etc.
Do you have the skills?
  1. Strong collaboration skills. Excellent oral and written communication, ability to present confidently to executives, attention to detail and strong planning and management ability.
  2. Strong leadership skills to support development of security and resilience architecture teams.
  3. Knowledge and experience with at least three of the following areas: application, data, endpoint, security analytics/monitoring, or cloud security.
  4. Knowledge of, and experience working with, one or more formal Enterprise Architecture methodologies.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work with teams in a highly complex and matrixed organization.
  6. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain credibility with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  7. Knowledge and experience in delivering blueprints, specifications, models, and guidelines.
