Job summary

SLR Consulting (Canada) Ltd. is seeking a Principal Resource Geologist to lead geologic modelling, resource estimation, and project leadership in a dynamic mining/environmental context.

You will drive NI 43-101 reporting, due diligence, and client engagement, leveraging 10+ years of mineral resource experience and licensed geoscience credentials. Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar geological role in mining or environmental services.
  • Significant knowledge of Seequent’s Leapfrog Geo and Edge modelling software.
  • Experience with 3D geological modelling, data analysis, and drill planning.
  • Knowledge of geostatistical mineral resource estimation fundamentals.
  • Registered Licensed Professional such as P.Geo. or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Development of geological models or interpretations.
  • Construction of block models for mineral resource and mineral reserve estimates.
  • Participation in the preparation of NI 43-101 Reports or international equivalents.
  • Perform due diligence reviews to support project financing, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Project management, including leadership of other geologists and third‑party consulting groups.
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological findings with other disciplines.
  • Ensure successful project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare proposals and contribute to service line and client development plans.
  • Liaise with clients and ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Mentor junior geologists and participate in training/mentorship opportunities.

As our new Principal Resource Geologist, you will join one of the largest, dynamic and experienced teams of resource geologists globally. You will bring demonstrated skills and experience with mineral resource/geological modelling (experience with Leapfrog is a must), exploration and project reviews. In addition to strong technical skills, you’ll also have a solid background in report writing, in the development of technical scopes of work, proposal preparation, and the successful delivery of projects, meeting high standards for quality and client satisfaction.

  • Liaise and build relationships with clients and ensure excellent service delivery
  • Mentor junior geologists and participate in internal and external training/mentorship opportunities

Here’s what else you’ll enjoy as part of our team:

  • The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000+. Final agreed‑upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location
  • Full‑time, permanent role with flexible scheduling available (core hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm)

Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar geological role in the mining or environmental services industry
  • Significant knowledge of Seequent’s Leapfrog Geo and Edge modelling software
  • Knowledge of an additional mining software package such as Datamine/Vulcan/Surpac/Micromine is considered an asset
  • Experience with 3D geological modelling, data analysis, and drill planning
  • Knowledge of geostatistical mineral resource estimation fundamentals
  • Undergraduate degree in the geosciences. Master’s degree preferred
  • Registered Licensed Professional such as P.Geo. or equivalent
