Job Description:

Join us as we continue to grow and transform the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ontario, enriching and transforming our cities, municipalities, and neighborhoods. Parsons has been a leader in the design and delivery of municipal roads and civil infrastructure for 80 years. We are looking for a few dynamic and experienced Infrastructure Leader(s) / Principal Project Manager(s) to build our team in the Greater Toronto Region. We have excellent relationships with municipalities across Southern Ontario and seek an experienced and strong manager with the technical and commercial expertise to lead projects and manage teams of engineers and designers.

We seek individuals demonstrating technical excellence, with experience delivering complex projects by working closely with internal disciplines, external stakeholders, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will also have experience managing teams, negotiating change orders, scope changes, and risk management. Knowledge of roads, highways, and related standards, specifications, contracts, and policies is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects through all phases, from inception to planning, detailed design, execution, construction, and closeout.
  • Manage municipal road project schedules and budgets.
  • Develop project management, risk management plans, and set project goals, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Act as the Parsons representative with clients and subconsultants, maintaining trust and managing expectations.
  • Negotiate scope changes with clients and subconsultants.
  • Lead business development efforts, including proposals and technical write-ups.
  • Ensure quality standards are met through review of project deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and prepare status reports and invoices.
  • Conduct project meetings to ensure alignment and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and provide guidance to team members.
  • Support business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of projects.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, proactively managing scope, schedule, and budget risks.
  • Apply internal processes and industry best practices to promote technical and commercial excellence, including obtaining Project Management Certification (PMC) as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • P.Eng registration with PEO
  • 10+ years of project management experience in municipal and regional road projects
  • 15+ years of municipal road planning, design, and management experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, and InRoads
  • Efficient in MS Office, MS Project, and database software for project management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
